Finally!

The old blog update is a MUST at this point!  To be honest, I was not feeling inspired to keep this up the past few weeks.  However, at this very second the babe is in bed sleeping soundly, the hubby is at work (gives me time to have some "me" time) and the Etta James channel on Pandora is killin' it right now!  This all leads to some catch up time for our lil bloggy blog.

Well, our child is insane!  She is crawling, scooting, sitting up on her own, eating so many new things and my favorite...wait for it....enjoys screaming at the top of her lungs!  Sister has found her voice, holla!  (Wow, can you feel the Etta James inspiration in this blog, hahahaha)

I will say that the past few weeks have kind of thrown me for a loop.  A friend of mine, from elementary school, her 7 month old daughter passed away on New Year's.  This absolutely shook my world around.  I had always been warned of babies passing in their sleep, but that was just something nurses had to tell you and other people in a far away land experienced.  Not someone I actually knew.  From this absolutely horrific experience I took something away from it.  I feel horrible that I wasn't doing this from the get go and it's so simple.  Live in the moment.  After hearing about this sweet little angel, not letting my own baby go for about 3 hours straight and sobbing awkward strange sobs of fear that this could happen to someone, I decided to focus on living in the moment.  Stop trying to do so much, slow down and appreciate what is in front of us.  Dishes can wait.  Vaccuuming can be done later.  Laundry-well there's always laundry to be done, so just keep stacking it up until that baby goes night night. So, here's to a new year of living in the moment and being present in those moments.

Mr. Sippy Cup is as big as Piper girl!

Sand is the most extraordinary thing is her world right now

The park is a magical place where sand meets toes and fingers, shadows fall on the ground, fresh air blows through her hair and giggles are heard the whole time we are there.

I got this ma, I'm a big girl now!

Happy eyes:)
