Haylee Jade

Piper has her very own security dog!
While we do anything in Piper's room, Haylee always puts herself between Piper and the door.  As soon as Haylee hears the babe crying she races up there to make sure all is ok:)  Such a protective pup she is.

2 Months

Piper is 2 months old!  Where oh where did the time go??  Here are some fun changes we've noticed in the past month.  We just love to watch her grow and learn!
  • Piper weighs in at 10 pounds 15 ounces
  • 23 inches long
  • She can hold her head up for longer periods of time
  • Beginning to hate tummy time...
  • She has found her hands and folds them so nicely like a little lady
  • Piper can definitely see further distances
  • She can recognize faces and voices
  • Starting to sit in her Bumbo
  • Piper now loves to be held in the "sitting up position" or facing out
  • She has to be in on all the conversations and doesn't want to miss out on anything!
  • Her bedtime is now 7:30, wakes up once to be fed, goes back to sleep until about 5:30-AMAZING!
  • She's sleeping in her crib and loves her mobile
Staring up at the mobile in her crib.

Playing with my hands!

Red Sox Lucky Charm

Here's our little Boston fan.  She was NOT too thrilled to be taking pictures but she still looked cute!  Oh, and we're hoping that she'll one day marry Pedroia's son Dylan:)

Snuggle Time

One of my favorite times of the day is when I look down and this is what I find...

SmiLes!

Piper has been smiling, giggling and coo-ing for quite some time now but my camera is never fast enough to catch the good stuff. Good thing Aunt Christy has a speedy quick camera:)

Munds Park Getaway

Thursday morning the hubby and I were laying in bed and he dropped some fabulous news on me...he had the next four days off! WoO HOoOoO! We threw around some ideas of what to do and at the top of our list was Vegas (but then we'd have to leave Pipes overnight for the first time and we weren't quite ready for that), California (six hours with a baby in a car, eh) and Munds Park near Flagstaff. Munds was the PERFECT getaway. Short enough car ride and yet far enough to be out of the heat. So we packed our bags and off we went! Here are some cute photos of our weekend:

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone!
Today our plans consist of hanging out together and daddy is making some
delicious grub.
If Piper isn't sleeping yet, we may even catch some fireworks!
I just had to show off my man's cooking skills, and of course, we had to get the patriotic beer can in the shot as well!

Question From a Friend

It's so interesting how things change after having a baby. All relationships change, whether you like it or not, you make many new friends that are going through similar situations, and you are busy busy busy! Conversations also seem to have changed. Yes, I love to brag about my baby and could talk about her all day to anyone who wants to listen, but I find it interesting that some friends no longer know what to say to you. It's so silly to me since I don't think my personality has changed at all, but yes I have an addition to my life. I have had some silly questions asked and some questions that are quite insulting. However, I had a friend who finally asked a question that really got me thinking and I believe I finally have an answer...it actually took me a day or two to think of my answer!

The question...what is the best and worst thing about being a mom so far?

I just experienced the best thing tonight. Miss Piper was extraordinarily fussy this evening when we got home. At first I started to panic since Jeremy wasn't home and he's my teammate! If I can't calm her down he does something that makes everything all better, now he wasn't here, CRAP!

Then, mommy mode kicked in. I went upstairs, changed the diaper, fed my lil one, turned on some lullabies and rocked her. We rocked and rocked and rocked. No tv, no phone calls, no text messages, no visitors. Just me and my sweet, sweet baby. That is the best feeling and moment so far. Just the two of us relaxed and living in that moment without any distraction.

The worst? That's a real hard one for me. I have loved every second of being with her, so I would have to say the first time leaving her. So many emotions come to you-the feeling of guilt, a bit of emptiness since I'm around her every second of every day, and then the what if's come in to play. What if something were to happen and I don't see her again? What if, what if, what if? It's so ridiculous, but hey, it happens!

I thank my dear friend for finally asking a question that meant something to me and really got me thinking. I have a feeling this question will be something that I reflect on month to month-maybe I'll just have to blog about it;)
